Antrim Coast Engagement Shoot

What a country we live in! To have romantic ruined castles & white sandy beaches on our doorstep is surely something we tend to take a little for granted here in Northern Ireland?

So I was thrilled when Lauren & Steven chose Dunluce Castle & Whiterocks Beach on the beautiful Antrim Coast for their engagement pics! Although they live quite far away, the Antrim Coast holds family memories to them, making it the perfect spot to celebrate their forthcoming nuptials.

The shoot started at Whiterocks Beach & went a little something like this…Beach (2)Beach (3)Beach (16)I always find coastal lighting is just incredible…Beach (24)Beach (29)Beach (33)Beach (35)Beach (40)Beach (44)Beach (46)Beach (50)Beach (62)Beach (64)Beach (69)We drove a few miles along the stunning coastal road to Dunluce Castle…to fight the raging wind!CastleCastle (6)Castle (12)Castle (17)Castle (21)Castle (22)Castle (28)Ross caught this sneaky shot & I love it!Castle (30)Castle (34)Such an amazing backdrop….Castle (39)Castle (45)Castle (52)Castle (56)Castle (65)Castle (70)The wind was fierce and bitterly cold so we stopped into the visitors room to defrost and write a little postcard!Castle (74)Castle (75)Lauren had this fab idea with scrabble tiles!Castle (76)Castle (77)Castle (78)Back up at the cars the sun was coming out & the sea was sparkling in the distance. Mesmerising.Castle (83)Quick costume change!Castle (84)I’d spotted this coat in Lauren’s car right before we were about to say our goodbyes and I asked her to put it on for a few shots…so glad I did, she looks beautiful in it!Castle (87)Castle (90)

And Lauren will have another ring to admire come August when she marries Steven! Can’t wait to photograph that one, I know it’s going to be a beaut!

Impromptu day at the beach

Sometimes you have just have to say SACK IT to work & head to the beach with your friends!
DSCF8125We decided to take advantage of a rare DRY day in July & jumped in the car to Murlough Beach, Co Down.DSCF8129  With us were our newlywed friends Sonja & Florian, visiting from Germany. They loved Murlough.
